Jessie Farrell Hailing from Vancouver, Jessie's soulful voice originally drew her to a career in pop music. However, a handful of life experiences, the most difficult being the loss of her brother to cancer, led her to the lyrically driven format of country music. Jessie's sound has been compared to everyone from a pre hip hop Nelly Furtado to the Dixie Chicks. Although she is a diverse vocalist and invites comparisons, Jessie's sound is distinctive and branded. Following her reemergence, Jessie set out to create an album that authentically depicted her emotions and her state of mind. Her passionate lyrics, raw energy and a stage presence that is sorely lacking on the current scene got people talking… and listening. These "people" included Garth Fundis, who has produced albums for the likes of Sugarland, Alabama, Trisha Yearwood, and Master songwriter Jim Vallance (Bryan Adams, Tina Turner). Fundis heard Jessie and signed on to become part of the project right out of the gate. Fundis was impressed both by her songwriting skills and live performance, while Vallance couldn't deny the magic in Jessie's music either and co-wrote some songs with her. Manager Jonathan Simkin (604 Records) has helped Jessie put together a powerhouse team, with the latest addition to it. |
